No, and this is intentional. Dr. Kiran’s philosophy is conservative-first. He believes that surgery should be considered only when all non-surgical options have been genuinely tried or when there is a clear clinical reason to make early surgery the right call. His extensive training means he has more tools in his kit than just the operating theatre. He will explain all your options transparently.
It’s rarely too late. Many patients come to Dr. Kiran after years of managing pain with painkillers or simply tolerating it. A proper assessment can identify what’s actually happening and what options remain. Even advanced arthritis and chronic conditions often have meaningful treatment pathways that can significantly reduce pain and improve function even without surgery.
Dr. Kiran holds an M.Ch in Orthopaedics from the University of Dundee, the highest academic degree in the field, and has completed advanced fellowships in arthroscopy, sports biomechanics, and joint replacement in the UK and India. He has specialised training in Arthroscopy (minimally invasive joint surgery), cartilage restoration, orthobiologics, and sports medicine at a level that goes significantly beyond general orthopaedic practice. He also trained under internationally renowned mentors in Scotland and continues to attend global workshops every year.
This is one of Dr. Kiran’s specialities. His training at IMAR (Institute for Motion Analysis and Research) in the UK, where elite athletes receive biomechanical assessment, gives him a rare understanding of how the body performs under athletic stress. Many of his patients, from recreational players to semi-professionals, have returned to their sport after treatment. Return-to-sport outcomes depend on the nature of the injury, but Dr. Kiran will give you an honest, evidence-based prediction.
X-rays miss a great deal. Soft tissue injuries, cartilage damage, ligament tears, labral lesions, and early-stage conditions do not show on a standard X-ray. Dr. Kiran uses clinical examination, targeted MRI interpretation, and functional assessment to identify what X-rays can’t.
